John Chen is the Founder and Managing Partner at Hive Ventures. He brings his technical expertise and business background – especially within the US and Chinese ecosystems – to help portfolio companies scale and grow, locally and globally. He is passionate about entrepreneurship and possesses extensive experience in building global products within Big Data and AI technologies.

John began his professional career in 2001 and worked as a software engineer at several Silicon Valley-based startups and interned at various multinational networking companies in the US.

John has an MBA from the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai. He also holds a Bachelor in Computer Science – along with a specialisation in Agricultural Resources and Managerial Economics – from Cornell University in New York.
